very good interview with a guy who knows what he is talking about!

I only met him once, but I can say that he seems to be a very down to earth guy and is skating cause he loves it and that is very inspiring.

haffey is the man, and it’s true, older pros don’t disappear, just no one wants to film them anymore because they can’t “keep up” with younger pros, but we need to embrace them just the same. i think the problem is, seeing older pros not able to skate at their former level reminds people that we all get old, and this SCARES younger kids. we need to accept people at their current level AND age, and realize that a 35 year old with bad knees is not going to be as eager to huck themselves down a 15 stair, and will more likely enjoy skating park or tranny. younger kids will always take bigger risks, as their bodies are more resilient. There’s a place for everyone, and i’ve even seen grandpa-types in full pads learning backside stalls on mini ramp, and i loved seeing it. just accept people’s limitations and push YOURSELF the best you can, without putting expectations on others for what YOU THINK THEY SHOULD be able to do.

I am 26 from Leeds England, I started skating at the age of 14 stopped at 19 and now 26 miss each and every day. What got me into rollerblading was Hoax 3, make mopre videos like that and have people like Chris skating will soon be shown as a highlight of extreme sports once again. Skating began with friendships and good times, having fun and pushing your own ability the only sport where you can puch yourself and be part of a whole team. Long Live Rollerblading x
